Men's Golf in 12th at Georgia

The Gators will move into round two of the Carpet Capital Collegiate with a tough road ahead of them. UF is currently in 12th place, shooting a 16-over 304 at The Farm (par 72, 6,096 yards), 24 strokes from the lead.
Junior Bubba Dickerson (Hilliard, Fla.) leads the Gators tied at 22nd. Dickerson posted two birdies to finish the day with a two-over 74 total. Following Dickerson, sophomore Camilo Villegas (Mendellin, Colombia) is the only other UF golfer in the top-30. Villegas also carded two birdies to finish at three-over 75 for the day.
Senior Camilo Benedetti (Mendellin, Colombia) claimed a team-high four birdies, but holds at T41, shooting four-over 76. After leading the Gators and setting a course record last week, junior transfer Ari Savolainen (Helsinki, Finland) holds the fourth-place spot in the UF lineup. Savolainen was the only Gator to shoot lower than a birdie with one Eagle, but finished the round with a seven-over 79. Playing in his first tournament for the Gators, sophomore Robert Litsey (Palatka, Fla.) is at T63 with an eight-over 80.
Tournament host Georgia Tech leads the field with an eight-under 280 with Tennessee close behind at 283. Individually leading the tournament is Dustin Bray, North Carolina, who shot a five-under 67.
The teams will tee-off for round two beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6.
