Women's Golf Finishes Third At Puerto Rico Classic

The University of Florida women's golf team finished third with a final score of 903 (304-288-293) at the 2003 Lady Puerto Rico Classic held at the Palmas Del Mar Country Club in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Duke won the tournament with a score of 872 (291-288-293).
"I'm very proud of their overall effort and we will take the positives of this tournament into the SunTrust Lady Gator Invitational next weekend," head coach Jill Briles-Hinton said.
Freshman Aimee Cho (Orlando, Fla.) finished tied for second place after shooting two-over-par with a score of 218 (73-70-75). Senior Jeanne Cho (Bradenton, Fla.) finished the tournament tied for 14th place as she shot a two-over-par 74 in the third round to finish with a score of 224 (79-71-74).
"Aimee Cho played fantastic in only her second collegiate tournament with a very tough tournament field," Briles-Hinton said. "Jeanne Cho came back very well after the first few holes of the tournament and was also terrific throughout the tournament."
Junior Amanda Dick (Clearwater, Fla.) tied for 31st place with a score of 230 (77-73-80). Sophomore Andrea Vander Lende (Longwood, Fla.) finished tied for 38th place and freshman Camila Gonzalez (Bucaramanga, Columbia) tied for 47th place with scores of 232 and 235, respectively.
The Lady Gators will return to Gainesville to host the 2003 SunTrust Lady Gator Invitational March 9-11 at the University Golf Course.
