W. Golf Falls in Playoff; Finishes 9th at East Regionals

The No. 13 University of Florida women's golf team fell in a playoff versus No. 11 Oklahoma State at the 2004 NCAA East Regional Championships. The loss put the Lady Gators in ninth place.
Senior Amanda Dick (Clearwater, Fla.) birdied hole No. 1 during the playoff, but it wasn't enough to secure the eighth-place finish and a trip to the NCAA Championships for Florida.
After carding a 920 (310-295-315) for the tournament, the Lady Gators tied for eighth with Oklahoma State, forcing a sudden-death playoff.
Florida's top finishers of the day were Dick and junior Andrea Vander Lende (Longwood, Fla.) as they each carded a 78 for the final round. Dick finished the tournament in a tie for 29th place with a three-round total of 229 (78-73-78). Vander Lende carded a 230 (81-71-78) for the tournament, putting her in a tie for 32nd place.
Sophomore Tarah McNaughton (Bradenton, Fla.) tallied 79 strokes in the final round, giving her a three-round total of 240 (78-83-79).
Other finishers for the Lady Gators included sophomore Aimee Cho (Orlando, Fla.), who turned in an 80. Cho finished the tournament in a tie for 36th place with a score of 231 (76-75-80). Sophomore Camila Gonzalez (Bucaramanga, Colombia) carded an 84, bringing her three-day total to 238 (78-76-84).
