W. Golf Finishes Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic in Fourth Place

The University of Florida women's golf team shot its third-lowest score of the 2008-09 season during Tuesday's final round of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic to finish the 54-hole, three-day competition in a season-best fourth place. The Lady Gators fired a 300 on the par-72, 6,009-yard Cougar Golf Course in Kiawah Island, S.C. to bring their three-round total to 912 (309-303-300, +48).
Jessica Yadloczky (Casselberry, Fla.) continued to perform well for the Lady Gators. The sophomore had the best finish among the squad in a tie for third place, her best finish of the season, after carding a 54-hole total score of 220 (+4). Although she started her round with two bogeys in a row, she finished strong, making a birdie on her final hole for a final round score of 74 (+2).
Freshman Evan Jensen (Belleair, Fla.) carded a career-best final round score of 68 (-4). Jensen collected six birdies, two bogeys and ten pars on day three and finished the tournament in a career-best tie for 12th place with a total score of 224 (80-76-68, +8).
Freshman Andrea Watts (Bradenton, Fla.) had her worst round of the tournament, adding eight strokes to her previous round and carding an 81 (+9) on Tuesday. She finished the event with a tournament total of 231 (77-73-81, +15), good for a tie for 43rd.
Redshirt sophomore Lauren Uzelatz (Lakeland, Fla.) tied for 94th place with a total score of 239 (+23), after carding a 79, 81 and 79, respectively. Redshirt sophomore Nicole Schachner (Libertyville, Ill.) saved her best round for last as she carded a 7-over 79 for a tournament total of 247 (+31), good for a tie for 143rd finish.
Miami and Central Arkansas shared first place honors, carding a total score of 904 (+40), while East Tennessee State scored a 908 (+44) to finish in third place. Central Arkansas' Nicole Forshner and Sinead O'Sullivan of East Tennessee State shared the individual title, each scoring a two-over 218 tournament score.
