UF Tied For 10th Through 36 Holes At SEC/PAC-12 Challenge

The UF women's golf team finished second round play Saturday at the SEC/PAC-12 Challenge with a team score of 597 (+21). The Gators will enter the final round tied for 10th on Sunday at the Holston Hills Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn.
“We had a mediocre day,” head coach Jan Dowling shared. “We aren't here for top-five finishes. We want tournament wins. We are going to make our adjustments and compete tomorrow. With golf, you never know what can happen.”
Senior Mia Piccio (Bacolod City, Philippines) added a solid even par (72) second round to give her a tournament total of 145 (+1). Piccio is tied for 13th through 36 holes.
“Mia did a great job today,” Dowling acknowledged. “She is near the top of the leader board in a great field and that's pretty much all you can ask for.”
Senior Evan Jensen (Belleair, Fla.) followed a below average performance yesterday with a solid one-over 73. Jensen has posted a two-day total of 153 (+9).
“I'm really proud of Evan's round today,” Dowling said “Evan bounced back and played really well on a day where the course played pretty long and difficult.”
Camilla Hedberg (Sitges, Spain) shot a season worst 81 (+9) giving her a two-day total of 152 (+8). The freshman is tied for 66th entering the final round.
Junior Isabelle Lendl (Goshen, Conn.) provided a second round 76 to give her a tournament total of 153 (+9). Senior Andrea Watts (Bradenton, Fla.) recorded a 78 (+6) in the second round and has a total of 155 (+11) through two rounds.
Megan Pak (Bradenton, Fla.), who competed as an individual, completed her second round with a 10-over 82. Pak has a total of 165 through two rounds.
Alabama, who is currently three-under, will enter the last round with a five shot lead over UCLA. Stephanie Meadow from Alabama and Nathalie Mansson from Tennessee lead after 36 holes with a score of five-under. The SEC leads the PAC-12 with total team averages of 598.16 to 600.63 entering the concluding round.
The third and final round will get under way tomorrow, October 23, with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. The final round will be streamed live at http://www.utladyvols.com/allaccess/?media=258543.
