Karolina Vlckova Improves on Day Three of NCAA Championship

BRADENTON, Fla. – University of Florida women's golfer Karolina Vlckova posted her lowest round of the NCAA Championship on Sunday afternoon before play was suspended due to darkness.
Vlckova was unable to finish her second round on Saturday because of lightning, so she wrapped up the round Sunday morning with a score of 11-over 83. She then rebounded in the third round Sunday afternoon to card a 1-over 73, her best round in the national tournament by six strokes. Her 54-hole total is +19 (235).
With a score of 24-over 600, Southern California led the 24-team field following the second round. On the individual side, Alabama's Emma Talley sat atop the leaderboard with a 1-under 143 through two rounds.
Sunday marked the third-straight day play was unable to be completed at The Concession Golf Club, this time because of darkness. Six teams have third-round holes remaining before the field is cut to the top-15 teams and nine individuals on non-advancing teams for the final round of stroke play. Eight teams will then advance to match play, beginning on Tuesday.

“I'm happy for Karolina to finish strong today. The golf course this week was super challenging, as you can see from all the scores. Today they had some more benign pins and that helped with scoring overall. Karolina did a better job today of managing her misses. She also got a few more putts to fall.”
On takeaways from the NCAA Championship:
“It wasn't our best week but certainly learned a lot and overall an outstanding sophomore year for Karolina. She is poised for big things in the future.”

The top 15 teams and nine individuals on non-advancing teams will advance to the Round 4 of the NCAA Championship, which is scheduled to begin at 10:50 a.m. on Monday.
