GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida placed 84 student-athletes on the 2015 Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, announced Tuesday by league commissioner Greg Sankey.
The 2015 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2014-15 Summer, Fall and Spring terms. The NCAA and SEC champion softball team placed seven on the list. Women's tennis, which won the SEC title, saw four earn SEC Academic Honor Roll status and the SEC Tournament champion baseball team placed nine on the list. A total of 12 from Florida's SEC champion men's track & field team, along with 19 from the women's program, appear on the Academic Honor Roll. The Gator lacrosse team, which swept the Big EAST regular season and tournament titles, placed an all-time high of 17 on the list. Men's golf (5), women's golf (5) and men's tennis (6) each had multiple representative on the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Two from women's track & field turned in 4.0 grade point averages in the 2014-15 academic year – senior Shelby Hayes and sophomore Taylor Tubbs.
