GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Forty-six University of Florida student-athletes were named Wednesday to the 2014-15 Southeastern Conference First-Year Academic Honor Roll by league commissioner Greg Sankey. Grades from the 2014-15 academic year are used to determine the 2015 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
Wednesday's announcement gives Florida a total of 237 student-athletes who were named to a 2014-15 SEC Academic Honor Roll. Florida placed 191 on the SEC Academic Honor Rolls (52 on fall list; 55 winter, 84 on spring) and 55 on the First-Year Honor Roll.
Three Gators - Alex McMurtry (gymnastics), Betsy Middleton (soccer) and Josie Kuhlman (tennis) – all turned in 4.0 grade point averages in their first year at Florida.
