
Sixteen Gator Student-Athletes Participating in This Weekend’s Commencement

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - A total of 16 University of Florida student-athletes will participate in this Saturday's commencement ceremonies in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.

12 members of the 2015 summer graduate class were part of a national and/or Southeastern Conference championship team during their Gator careers. 14 earned Academic All-Southeastern Conference honors. |
Five were part of NCAA Championship teams during their Gator careers – gymnast Jamie Shisler (2013, 2014, 2015 NCAA champions) and four from the 2014 and 2015 NCAA Softball champion teams – Jessica Damico, Briana Little, Francesca Martinez and Kathlyn Medina.
Volleyball's Holly Pole is only the second ever UF accounting major to earn dual undergraduate degrees as she will also receive her sport management diploma Saturday morning. Placekicker Frankie Velez receives his master's degree in international business.
Bryan Augenstein, a member of the Gators' 2005 NCAA College World Series runner-up team, returned to UF after playing professional baseball to finish his sports management degree. James Vargas also returned to UF to complete his degree while he pursues his professional golf career.
