
Gators Drop Game one of doubleheader

GAINESVILLE, Fla.—Florida and Seton Hall battled through 13 innings in game one of today's doubleheader and the Pirates came out with a 3-2 win, getting a sac fly in the top of the 13th for the winning run.
Game two of the doubleheader is scheduled to start at 8:45 p.m.
Seton Hall struck first in the opening frame. Leadoff hitter Rob Dadona singled, stole second and came around to score on Ryan Ramiz's RBI single to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead.
Both pitchers were in a groove until the bottom of the fifth, when Florida's Christian Hicks hit his first home run of the season to tie the game.
The Gators took the lead in the sixth inning. Singles from Dalton Guthrie and Jonathan India set Florida up with runners on the corners and one out.
Keenan Bell stepped to the plate and hit a ball off the top of the wall that bounced back in for a double and scored Guthrie from third for a 2-1 lead.
The Pirates tied the game in the ninth. After a one-out walk, Ramiz singled to set up SHU with runners on the corners. Mike Caputo bunted to bring home the runner from third to tie the game 2-2.
After battling in extra innings, Seton Hall finally broke the tie in the 13th. A leadoff single by Dadona got things started and the Pirates loaded the bases with a pair of walks. A sac fly from Caputo gave SHU a 3-2 lead.
In the Gators half of the inning, Seton Hall reliever struck out consecutive batters to start the inning and got a line out to end the game.
