Florida eliminated from NCAA Championships

Brooks and Perez both shoot best rounds of the tournament on Sunday
STILLWATER, Okla. – Florida was eliminated from the NCAA Championships Sunday after finishing 21st in the field.
The Gators carded a final score of 303 (+15) for the third consecutive round and six shots below the cut line for the top 15.
Sophomore Sierra Brooks nearly advanced as one of the top nine individual. With Florida not advancing, her three day total of 222 (+6) tied her for 10th individually missing out by one stroke.
In round three, Brooks recorded her second round of 73 (+1). After birding No. 18 for the third time this week, she finished the back nine 1-under par which was her lowest nine hole score of the tournament.
Sophomore Marta Perez and freshman Addie Baggarly also went 1-under in the final nine holes Sunday. Baggarly found birdies on No. 14 and No. 17 while Perez sunk birdie putts on No. 13 and No. 18.
Perez had the Gators low round of the day posting a 72 (E) tying Taylor Tomlinson's second round score for the lowest on the team this week.
Tomlinson competed in her final round for UF. The senior helped the program capture the 2017 SEC Championship and advance to a three NCAA Championships in her four years.

"Well, it would be easy to blame today as the downfall but, really it was a combination of our play all three days. We struggled overall getting the ball in play. And we didn't improve from day one which was disappointing. We didn't make the adjustments needed to keep pace." -- Coach Emily Bastel Glaser

"Overall, there are a lot of positives from the year. Our young roster has a lot to take away and gained a ton of valuable experiences that should serve them well in the future. But we also have a lot of work to do to be more cohesive as a team and to be more consistent.
