
Hillis collects a personal-best time and wins the 200 IM

AUBURN, Ala. – Dillon Hillis and Drew Clark each collected a victory to pace the University of Florida men's swimming team on day one of the Auburn Invitational. The Gators returned to the James E. Martin Aquatic Center for the second time in three weeks.
Clark got the night started off for Florida with a win in the 500 Free final with a swim of 4:24.84. Matthew Anderson clocked a season-best time of 4:26.71 and placed third. Miguel Cancel placed seventh. Dakota Mahaffey swam a season-best 4:32.20 in the prelims.
Hillis recorded a personal-best time of 1:47.45 in the 200 IM final on his way to a first-place finish. Stanley Wu finished in fourth with a season-best mark of 1:49.69. Chandler Bray notched a season-best swim of 1:51.91 and placed seventh. Ethan Beach posted a season-best 1:50.83 in the prelims.
Jack Szaranek finished fifth in the 50 Free final with a season-best mark of 20.21. Isaac Davis placed sixth with a personal-best time of 20.25. Viktor Toth finished in 10th, while Marty Stange came in 11th with a career-best 20.81.
The Auburn Invitational continues Saturday at 10:30 a.m. ET with the 400 IM.
