Second Round of NCAA Championships Suspended until Tomorrow

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After a five-hour weather delay of mixed storms and small tornados, the decision was made to end play for the day.
The Gators were seven holes away from finishing the second round of NCAA Championships when the evacuation horn blew. There was at 12:15 p.m. there was lightning spotted in the area and a non-immediate but mandatory course evacuation began. The players could finish the hole they were on then the course needed to be cleared. It was a long five-hour wait and lots of heavy rain that resulted in the day being cut short.
The second round will finish off first thing tomorrow morning with the third round to immediately follow. The Gators will begin the day tomorrow sitting in 21st with junior Sierra Brooks in contention for the individual title, as she is currently in a tie for third and one-under for the tournament. Second round tee times and third round pairings and tee times will be announced when they are made available.
