Gators Drop Semifinal Match to South Carolina

The Florida women’s golf team will compete for third place tomorrow at the East Lake Cup.
ATLANTA, Ga. – The Florida women's golf team fought down to the wire, but came up shorthanded in the semifinal match against South Carolina in the first round of match play at the East Lake Cup.
Addie Baggarly claimed the first match win of the day for the Gators with a 2 & 1 victory after using five strokes on the very first hole against her opponent's six to match scores the rest of the round and remain victorious.
The match came down to the final two rounds being played by Maisie Filler and Clara Manzalini. Filler and her opponent traded leads throughout the match, culminating when Filler went up by a stroke on the 16th hole. However, the match was evened up on the 18th and entered into a tiebreaker.
Manzalini found herself in a tie through 18 against her opponent, eventually falling on the 19th hole to give South Carolina the third match and overall win.
Due to expected weather tomorrow afternoon, the final schedule has been altered.
The Gators will compete in the third-place match beginning at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning off of the 10th hole.
The updated broadcast schedule is as follows:
11-11:30 a.m. ET College Central (Live, pre-game show)
11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. ET East Lake Cup – Final Day (Live)
2:30-3 p.m. ET Golf Central (Live, post-game show)
3-6 p.m. ET East Lake Cup – Final Day (Replay)
