Carter's Corner: Gators Calling Gators

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Gators hosted South Carolina on Saturday in their annual Homecoming game.
It was homecoming for two of the media members calling the game, too.
Former UF offensive lineman Max Starks and UF graduate Tori Petry returned to campus in their roles on the radio and TV. Starks, who went on to win two Super Bowl rings with the Pittsburgh Steelers, served as the analyst on ESPN Radio's national broadcast. Meanwhile, Petry worked as the sideline reporter for the SEC Network.
Petry has been on assignment at The Swamp previously.
The experience was new for Starks, who played for the Gators from 2000-03. It was his first time back at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium since his playing days.
"It's great to be back,'' he said. "I love my job."
Starks makes his home in Arizona and provides coverage of college games and NFL games as part of the Steelers Radio Network. He is scheduled to work the Pittsburgh-New Orleans game in Paris in two weeks.
