Friday the 13th Magic: Florida Soars to Nation’s Highest Score
Friday, March 13, 2026 | Gymnastics
LEXINGTON, Ky. — On Friday the 13th, it was anything but unlucky for Florida.
For the second time this week, Florida posted the nation's highest team total, delivering a 198.575 Friday night inside Kentucky's Historic Memorial Coliseum. The mark topped the Gators' 198.45 posted Sunday in a win against No. 2 LSU and now stands as the highest score in the country this season. The Wildcats posted their second-highest of 2026 with a 197.225.
Florida powered to the total behind three season highs — vault (49.475), uneven bars (49.725) and balance beam (49.80) — in a performance that built momentum from rotation to rotation. That season high beam total included Selena Harris-Miranda's second 10.0 of the week on the event.
It marked the third and final meeting of the day between Florida and Kentucky teams across multiple sports. Earlier Friday in Nashville, Tenn., top-seeded Florida Gators men's basketball advanced to the semifinal round of the Southeastern Conference Men's Basketball Tournament with a 71–63 win over Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball.
No. 5 Florida Gators softball opened its first road series at Kentucky Friday afternoon with a 10–2 victory over the Wildcats in six innings.
TONIGHT'S MEET
Things got off to a great start as the Gators tallied a season-high 49.725 on uneven bars, which is No. 2 in the nation in 2026. All six in the lineup stuck their landing, as UF used winning marks of 9.95s by Skye Blakely, Kayla DiCello, Selena Harris-Miranda and Riley McCusker plus a 9.925 from eMjae Frazier toward that total that stands No. 3 all-time for the Gators.
It was another season high on the next rotation as the Gators posted a 49.475 on vault. Junior Danie Ferris matched her season-high of 9.925 to lead the Gators. Two other Gators posted 9.90s – Blakely and Frazier. That mark is a collegiate best for Blakely and Frazier's season-high.
Florida equaled its second-highest floor exercise total of 49.575 Friday. The final two in the lineup – Blakely and Harris-Miranda – led marks of 9.95. Freshman Amelia Disidore turned in a collegiate-best 9.925 Friday.
The Gators matched their national high of 49.80 for the second time in the last three meets. One highlight in each of the last three beam performances was a perfect 10.0. Tonight's was the second of the week for Harris-Miranda, who earned her first 10.0 of the season Sunday versus No. 2 LSU. Blakely earned Florida's first 10.0 of the season at the Texas Woman's University quad to close February action.
All scores put toward the 49.80 beam were 9.925 or better. Frazier earned a near-perfect 9.975, while Blakely and DiCello each posted 9.95s. Alyssa Arana matched her collegiate-best of 9.925.
Both of the Gators all-arounders put up big totals that rank among the nation's best. Harris-Miranda won her fourth all-around of the season and second consecutive at 39.775, just edging Blakely (39.75). The 39.775 equals the nation's fourth highest posted in 2026, while the 39.75 is the fifth-highest.
