GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Eight legendary Gators are set to take their place among the all-time greats.
The University of Florida's 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame class features a decorated group of Gators whose combined achievements include national championships, NCAA titles, SEC crowns and some of the most memorable performances in UF history. This storied group of eight Gators will be welcomed into UF Athletic Hall of Fame, Friday, Oct. 9 prior to the South Carolina football game.

The F Club Committee chooses UF Athletic Hall of Fame inductees based on three categories: Gator Greats, Distinguished Letterwinners and Honorary Letterwinners.
The 2026 class is composed of eight Gator Greats.
The eight Gator Greats were part of seven national and 10 conference title teams. They won a combined 11 NCAA and nine SEC individual crowns.
Gator Greats are Letterwinners who brought recognition and prominence to the University of Florida and themselves by their athletic accomplishments as a student-athlete.
A Distinguished Letterwinner is a letterwinner who has made major contributions to the University athletic program through personal time, effort, interest and through many years of continued service. Additionally, Distinguished Letterwinners must have distinguished themselves as exception in their chosen field or endeavor.

Dedric Dukes | Track & Field, 2012-15
Dukes helped usher in one of the most successful eras in the history of Florida Gators track and field, emerging as a cornerstone of the program's national championship success from the moment he arrived in Gainesville.
As a freshman in 2012, Dukes led off Florida's victorious 4x400-meter relay team at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, helping secure the first NCAA outdoor team title in program history. That breakthrough performance set the tone for a remarkable collegiate career defined by speed, versatility and championship excellence.
In addition to being part of Florida's 2012 and 2013 NCAA Outdoor Championship teams, Dukes won five NCAA titles. He claimed the 2014 NCAA outdoor title in the 200 meters while also contributing to two NCAA championship 4x100-meter relay teams and two NCAA championship 4x400-meter relay teams. His ability to excel individually and as part of relay squads made him one of the nation's premier sprinters.
Dukes earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Region Outdoor Athlete of the Year honors in both 2014 and 2015 after consistently ranking among the nation's elite performers. In 2015, he captured SEC championships in both the 200 meters and 4x400-meter relay, adding to his 2012 SEC title as part of Florida's 4x400-meter relay squad.
His outstanding performances also brought national recognition, including selection as a semifinalist for The Bowerman Award in 2014, the sport's highest collegiate honor. By the end of his career, Dukes had earned 17 All-America honors - 11 outdoors and six indoors - cementing his place among the most decorated athletes in Florida track and field history.
Vernon Hargreaves | Football 2013-15
Vernon Hargreaves made an immediate impact on his arrival in Gainesville and left as one of the most decorated players of his era, earning two First-Team All-America honors as well as three First-Team All-SEC selections as a cornerback for the Gators. For his career, Hargreaves started in 35 of 37 games in which he played, totaling 121 tackles, three tackles for loss, 10 interceptions, 28 pass breakups and one forced fumble.
A native of Tampa, Fla., Hargreaves was named a Third-Team All-American by the Associated Press, National Defensive Player of the Year by College Football News, First-Team Freshman All-America by numerous outlets and First-Team All-SEC during his first year on campus. During his sophomore campaign, he was named a semifinalist for both the Chuck Bednarik Award and Lott IMPACT Trophy, and was also named one of three finalists for the Jim Thorpe Award during his junior year.
Hargreaves was selected with the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He went onto play six seasons in the NFL with the Buccaneers, Houston Texans and Cincinnati Bengals.
Vernon Maxwell | Basketball, 1984-85 – 1987-88
Vernon Maxwell is Florida's all-time leading scorer in men's basketball, tallying 2,450 points over the course of 130 appearances, and his point total ranks third in SEC history. His 738 points as a junior in 1986-87 are the most by a Gator in a single season, and Maxwell helped lead the Gators to its first two NCAA Tournament bids in program history.
A native of Gainesville, Maxwell was a three-time All-SEC honoree and earned AP All-America Honorable Mention as a senior. In addition to scoring, he ranks as the Gators' career leader in field goals (921) and steals (206) and points in SEC play (1,362).
Maxwell went on to a 13-year NBA career, earning two NBA championships with the Houston Rockets in 1994 and 1995.
Mikey Meagher | Lacrosse, 2010-13
Mikey Meagher took a blind leap of faith when she signed on to join the inaugural Gators lacrosse team for the 2010 season. Over the next four years, she became the backbone of a program that quickly transformed from a startup into one of the nation's elite teams.
Meagher made history in 2013 as the first goalkeeper ever named among the five finalists for the Tewaaraton Award, recognizing the nation's top collegiate lacrosse player. Her selection underscored both her individual dominance and the rapid rise of Florida lacrosse on the national stage.
Meagher's brilliance in net earned her the 2012 and 2013 Ensign C. Markland Kelly, Jr. Award as the nation's top goalkeeper, while also claiming consecutive WomensLax.com Goalie of the Year honors. In her final season, she was named the American Lacrosse Conference Goalkeeper of the Year.
Her dominance was reflected in the national rankings. Meagher led the nation in both goals-against average (7.04) and save percentage (.537) as a junior in 2012, while also ranking among the NCAA leaders again in 2013 with a 6.90 goals-against average and .502 save percentage. Her career goals-against average of 7.58 still stands as the best in Florida program history, cementing her legacy as one of the defining players in Gators lacrosse history.
Andrew Moten | Basketball, 1983-84 – 1986-87
Andrew Moten is Florida's fourth-leading scorer in men's basketball history, tallying 1,930 career points in 125 appearances despite playing just one season with the 3-point line. He helped lead the Gators to their first NCAA Tournament bid in program history in 1987.
Moten averaged 15.4 points for his career, scoring 16 or more points per game three of his four seasons. The Quincy, Fla., native earned SEC Freshman of the Year honors in 1984 averaging 11.9 points per game and went on to be a three-time All-SEC honoree and a member of the 1985 All-SEC Tournament Team.
In addition to points, Moten stands among Florida's all-time leaders in field goals (fourth, 711), games started (fifth, 124), minutes (seventh, 3,930), free throws (seventh, 447) and assists (10th, 411). He is one of three Gators to score more than 1,300 career points in SEC play (1,306).
Logan Shore | Baseball 2014-16
Logan Shore established himself as the ace of Florida Gators baseball from the moment he arrived in Gainesville, anchoring the pitching staff throughout one of the most successful stretches in program history. A model of consistency and competitiveness, Shore served as Florida's Friday night starter during all three of his collegiate seasons from 2014-16.
Shore quickly emerged as one of the nation's top pitchers as a freshman in 2014, earning Louisville Slugger and NCBWA Freshman All-America honors while also being named SEC Freshman of the Year.
In 2015, Shore became the first pitcher in school history to earn two victories in a single CWS appearance. His ability to deliver in the biggest moments continued throughout his junior season in 2016, when he solidified his status as one of the elite arms in college baseball.
Shore earned 2016 SEC Pitcher of the Year honors and was named All-SEC first-team for the second time in his career after previously receiving the recognition in 2014. He was also named a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award, presented annually to the nation's top collegiate baseball player, while earning First Team All-America honors from every major outlet. The NCBWA additionally recognized him as the 2016 District III Player of the Year.
Among the signature performances of his career were two memorable shutouts during the 2016 season. The first complete-game shutout of his career came against then-No. 6 Miami, while his second - a 6-0 victory over Georgia -marked his school-record 13th consecutive win.
By the conclusion of his career, Shore ranked second in Florida history with 30 career victories and seventh with 248 strikeouts. He finished with a 2.41 ERA and .231 batting average against in 53 games.
Bridget Sloan | Gymnastics 2013-16
Bridget Sloan set the tone for her historic career from the moment she arrived in Gainesville, aiming to provide the spark needed to push the Florida Gators to their first NCAA title. That impact was immediate. As a freshman in 2013, Sloan helped lead Florida to the program's first NCAA championship, beginning a dominant run of three consecutive national titles from 2013 to 2015.
Sloan's excellence extended across every event, making her one of the most complete gymnasts in collegiate history. She claimed NCAA all-around titles in 2013 and 2016, while also capturing uneven bars (2014, 2016) and balance beam (2013, 2016) crowns.
Uniquely accomplished, Sloan remains the only gymnast to win World (2009), U.S. (2009), and NCAA all-around titles, cementing her legacy across every level of the sport. She earned the prestigious Honda Sports Award as the nation's top collegiate gymnast twice - once as a freshman and again as a senior.
Sloan was the first Gator to achieve the "Gym Slam," recording a perfect 10.0 on all four apparatus, and finished her career with eight perfect scores. She finished in 2016 as UF career leader for all-around (27), event (95) wins and All-America honors (31). In 2016, she was named the SEC Female Athlete of the Year.
Kelsey Stewart | Softball 2013-16
From record-breaking performances to championship celebrations, Kelsey Stewart established herself as one of the most dynamic players in the history of Florida softball.
A two-time NCAA champion and two-time NFCA All-American, Stewart combined elite speed, consistency and offensive production to become one of the most accomplished players ever to wear the Orange and Blue. She played a central role in leading Florida to consecutive Women's College World Series titles in 2014 and 2015, earning WCWS All-Tournament Team honors in both championship seasons.
Stewart rewrote the Florida record book during her career, finishing as the program's all-time leader in hits (357), triples (29), runs scored (259), and total bases (509). She also owns Florida single-season records for hits (102) and triples (11). Among the program's career leaders, Stewart ranks in the top 10 in batting average (.391), doubles (49), stolen bases (113), and stolen base percentage (.911).
In 2015, she became just the fifth player in UF softball history to earn the SEC Player of the Year honor. That same season, she collected NFCA All-America first-team recognition for the second consecutive year.
