Gators Men’s Diving Welcomes Miguel Tovar

Tovar joins Florida from Colombia.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida diving welcomes Miguel Tovar to the men's swimming and diving roster for the 2026-27 season.
A native of Colombia, Tovar brings extensive international experience to Florida. He competed at the 2022 and 2024 World Junior Championships, earning silver medals in the 1-meter at both competitions. Tovar also made history at the 2025 Pan American Junior Games, winning Colombia's first Pan American Junior diving medal with a bronze in the 1-meter. He later added a silver medal in the 3-meter synchronized event.
"Miguel is exactly the type of athlete we want representing Florida," said Head Diving Coach Bryan Gillooly. "He's already one of the top divers on a very talented Colombian national team, and he is quickly making a name for himself internationally. His work ethic, competitiveness and personality make him a perfect fit for our program. When you add him to the three returners we have coming back, I think we've assembled a team that will be very difficult to beat."
