Jon Palomar joined the Gators in September of 2017 as the assistant athletic trainer for swimming & diving.
He is responsible for the overall healthcare of student-athletes, including prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses.
Prior to coming to Gainesville, Palomar spent 1 year at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri as an assistant athletic trainer where he worked with the men’s soccer, wrestling, baseball, and swim and dive teams.
He received his Bachelors of Science degree in athletic training at Aurora University. From 2014-2016 he earned his Masters of Arts with a concentration in athletic training at the University of Alabama where he was a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the swim and dive team.
Palomar is a certified athletic trainer through the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification. He is also certified CPR/AED Instructor through American Heart Association.
Palomar currently resides in Gainesville, where he lives with his wife, Alexandra, as they await the arrival of their baby girl. He enjoys watching sports, being active and cooking. He also loves to be outside with family and friends.Â
