Kevin Olsen returns to Florida for his second season at Florida in 2025-26, coming back to Gainesville after serving on Todd Golden’s initial staff as video coordinator in 2022-23.

Olsen spent the past two seasons from 2023-25 as an assistant coach at San Francisco, helping the Dons to a 48-21 record during that time with two NIT appearances. The 2024-25 campaign included a win vs. Saint Mary’s and a road victory at Oregon State, along with a WCC Tournament win vs. Washington State and an NIT victory against Utah Valley. Individually, the Dons saw first-team All-WCC selections for Malik Thomas and Marcus Williams and an All-Freshman nod for Tyrone Riley IV.

In 2023-24, USF had wins vs. Big Ten and Big East opponents, defeating both Minnesota and DePaul. Jonathan Mogbo and Williams earned first-team All-WCC honors, while Ryan Beasley picked up All-Freshman recognition. Ndewedo Newbury and Thomas each earned WCC honorable mention selections.

The Gators scored a pair of top-25 wins and a postseason berth in Olsen’s first season at UF. The 2022-23 campaign also included All-SEC honors for Colin Castleton and SEC All-Freshman recognition for Riley Kugel.

Prior to UF, Olsen spent the previous three seasons on staff at the University of San Francisco, where he served first as head student manager for the Dons and later as a graduate assistant on Todd Golden’s staff. The Villa Park, Calif., native graduated from USF with a degree in sociology in 2021.

Leading up to his time at USF, Olsen attended Irvine Valley College, where he was a team captain on the men’s basketball team. He also coached with West Coast Elite Basketball while attending Irvine Valley.
