Women's Golf in 11th After Day One of Lady Paladin

The University of Florida Lady Gator golf team shot a first-round 312 to finish in 11th place after round one of the 2001 Lady Paladin Invitational. UF is 13 shots off co-leaders Auburn and Wake Forest, who shot 299s in the opening round.
Individually, junior Brittany Straza (Fort Myers, Fla.) and sophomore Amanda Dick (Clearwater, Fla.) lead the Lady Gators after shooting five-over 77s, finishing tied for 25th. Freshmen Whitney Code (Tampa, Fla.) and Andrea Vander Lende (Longwood, Fla.) are tied for 49th after shooting seven-over-par 79s. Junior Jeanne Cho (Bradenton, Fla.) rounds out the playing five for the Lady Gators, shooting an 82 in the first round of play.
Florida will tee off at 9 a.m. Saturday morning for round two of the tournament.
