Lady Gator Golf Moves to Fifth at Lady Paladin

Greenville, SC—The University of Florida women's golf team shot a 299 and finished tied for fifth place Saturday after the second round of the Lady Paladin Invitational.
"It was cold and very windy. The girls were prepared. They fought for everything they had. I'm very proud of them," said Head Coach Jill Briles-Hinton. "It was one of those round where you could through up your hands and say tomorrow will be better, but they hung in there, they fought and they jumped a lot of people. We're looking forward to tomorrow."
In individual scoring, sophomore Amanda Dick (Clearwater, Fla.) leads the team, shooting a two-round 151(77-74) to tie for 10th place. Junior Brittany Straza (Fort Myers, Fla.) carded a 152 (77-75) to tie for 15th. Other individual finishes were junior Jeanne Cho (Bradenton, Fla.), who tied for 26th after shooting a 155 (82-73), freshman Whitney Code (Tampa, Fla.) with a 156 (79-77) and freshman Andrea Vander Lende (Longwood, Fla.), who carded a 157 (79-78) to finish tied for 43rd.
Sunday's final round begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
