Lady Gator Golfers Ninth After First Round

The Lady Gator golf team finished Day One of the Mason Rudolph Championships in ninth place, shooting a two-round total of 611.
Vanderbilt, the tournament's host school, holds the top spot with a 579.
After shooting a first-round 304, the Lady Gators turned in a second-round score of 307, moving them from a sixth place tie after round one to ninth going into Tuesday's final round.
"I thought it was a good start," said Head Coach Jill-Briles-Hinton. "We're stepping in the right direction. We're anxious to get back out there and show what we can do."
Junior Brittany Straza (Fort Myers, Fla./Lehigh) led UF after two rounds, carding a five-over-par 149 (75-74) to finish in a tie for 21st. Freshman Andrea Vander Lende (Longwood, Fla./Lake Mary) shot a 151 (73-78), finishing in a tie for 28th. Additionally, freshman Whitney Code (Tampa, Fla./Home Schooled) finished in a tie for 45th with a two-round total 155 (77-78), while junior Jeanne Cho (Bradenton, Fla./St. Stephen's Episcopal) tied for 48th with a 156 (77-79), followed by sophomore Joy Stephenson (Fort Myers, Fla./Fort Myers) finished with a two-round total of 165 (82-83) for a tie for 73rd.
The final round of the Mason Rudolph Championships will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
