Orange Defeats Blue 117-110 in Alumni Meet

The Florida men's and women's swimming and diving teams kicked off their 2001-2002 season Saturday with the program's annual alumni meet at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. The orange team defeated the blue team 117-110.
This season, the two teams were a mix of alumni and current Gators, rather than the past format, which pitted alumni against current Florida swimmers.
The hour-long meet began with a diving exhibition from former divers Heather Lawrence and David West, and current divers Sarah Close, Kristen Connor, Reggie Coote and Zach Wilcox. The orange and blue teams then competed in 12 events, including freestyle and medley relays.
Gator swimming and diving hosts the SEC Challenge Oct. 11-14, which will feature SEC foes Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina and Georgia.
