The University of Florida women's golf team posted its second consecutive top-five finish as the Lady Gators placed second at the Franklin Street Partners Invitational. The No. 9 Lady Gators finished with a three-round total of 899 (292-303-304) and had three golfers place in the top 15. The Duke Blue Devils won the tournament for the seventh straight year with a score of 850.
Sophomore Aimee Cho (Orlando, Fla.) finished tied for fifth place, as she carded a 220 (70-72-78). It is Cho's seventh top-five finish of her collegiate career. The preseason All-American tied her collegiate-best round score of 70 Friday.
Freshman Naree Song (Bradenton, Fla.) was close behind with a score of 222 (74-74-74). Song has finished in the top-10 in back-to-back tournaments.
Carding a collegiate-best tournament score of 226, sophomore Tarah McNaughton (Bradenton, Fla.) finished tied for 15th, her highest finish of the season. McNaughton also had a collegiate-best round of 70 Friday.
Junior Andrea Vander Lende (Longwood, Fla.) moved up six spots to finish 30th with a score of 235. Vander Lende carded a 74 Sunday, her best round in the three-day tournament.
Sophomore Camila Gonzalez (Bucaramanga, Colombia) placed 35th with a score of 240 (81-79-80).
The Lady Gators have finished in the top five in eight of the last 13 tournaments, and have finished in the top-two in five of their last nine tournaments.
Up next for the Lady Gators is the Dodge ACC/SEC Challenge in Sandestin, Fla. Florida tees off Oct. 24, and the tournament will conclude Oct. 26.
