The No. 10 University of Florida women's golf team advanced to the consolation round Sunday at the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship. The Lady Gators are all squared in the second round, which will be completed Monday morning. No. 16 seed Purdue and No. 8 seed Florida are tied at 2-2-1.
Sophomore Camila Gonzalez (Bcaramanga, Colombia) and Onnarin Sattayabanphot of Purdue are tied through 11 holes. Sophomore Tarah McNaughton (Bradenton, Fla.) is up three over Caroline Haase through 11 holes. Junior Whitney Code (Tampa, Fla.) is leading by four holes over Ella Asbun through 12 holes of play. Purdue's Beth Hermes is up three over junior Andrea Vander Lende (Longwood, Fla.) through 11 holes.
Florida lost in the first round Sunday morning to No. 9 seed Ohio State, who defeated the Lady Gators 4-1. Gonzalez had Florida's only win in the first round as she defeated OSU's Lindsay Knowlton 3 and 2.
