NCAA Women's Golf Central Regional Postponed
Thursday, May 8, 2003 | Women's Golf
The first round of the 2003 NCAA Women's Central Regional Golf Championships at Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb. has been postponed because of rain. Heavy rain began falling overnight in the Lincoln area and continued through mid-day.
Florida is the third seed in the Central Region behind top-seeded California and No. 2 seed Texas. This is the fourth consecutive year and the 10th time in the last 11 years that the Gators have reached the NCAA regional.
The tournament will resume on Friday with a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m., with plans to play both the first and second rounds. Tournament officials have scheduled 36 holes of continuous play for Friday in order to get the regional back on schedule for Saturday's third and final round.
Live scoring for the event is available at www.golfstat.com.
