No. 9 W. Golf Finished Strong at Mason Rudolph

Led by sophomore Aimee Cho (Orlando, Fla.), the No. 9 Florida Gators finished fourth at the Mason Rudolph Championship. Florida totaled an 889 (287-302-300) for the three-day tournament. Georgia won the tournament with an 874 (288-293-293).
Cho, the 2003 SEC Champion, finished tied for fourth with a 216 (71-73-72). Cho's performance tied her collegiate-best tournament round total (216), which she did at the 2003 SEC Championships. Cho's fourth-place finish marks the sixth time she has placed in the top five.
Freshman Naree Song (Bradenton, Fla.) was close behind, carding a 217 (71-72-74) for the tournament. Song has carded an even or under-par round in three of the six rounds of golf she has played for the Lady Gators.
With a collegiate-best tournament total of 229 (71-77-81), sophomore Tarah McNaughton (Bradenton, Fla.) finished tied for 41st place. McNaughton also carded a collegiate-best round (71) on the first day of competition.
Other finishers for the Lady Gators include junior Andrea Vander Lende (Longwood, Fla.) and sophomore Camila Gonzalez (Bucaramanga, Colombia). Vander Lende finished tied for 53rd place as she carded a 234 (74-83-77) in her first tournament since her shoulder surgery on May 29, 2003. Gonzalez finished tied for 73rd with 240 strokes (83-80-77).
The tournament featured 12 teams ranked in the latest NGCA Coaches' Poll, and six of those teams are ranked in the top 10. Florida placed higher than No. 2 Auburn, No. 3 Arizona and No. 8 Southern Cal.
The Lady Gators will tee off Oct. 3, 2003 at the 2003 Franklin Street Partners Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. Live scoring for the three-day tournament will be available on www.golfstat.com.
