The No. 9 University of Florida women's golf team finished in 14th place at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. The Lady Gators carded a 948 (314-318-316) for the three day tournament and had one player record a top-20 finish.
Sophomore Aimee Cho (Orlando, Fla.) finished tied for 18th as she carded a 227 (74-74-79).
UCLA won the tournament with a score of 876. New Mexico (908), Ohio State (914), Arizona (919) and Southern California (921) rounded out the top five. Fourteen of the 15 teams are ranked in the top 25 coaches poll, including seven in the top 10.
Leading the way for the Lady Gators in the third round was sophomore Camila Gonzalez (Bucaramanga, Colombia) who carded a 76. Gonzalez shot an eagle on the 12th hole, helping her move up to 55th place with a 241 (80-85-76) for the three-day tournament.
Junior Andrea Vander Lende (Longwood, Fla.) finished in 58th place, as she carded an 79 for the second consecutive day, giver her a total of 243 (85-79-79).
Other finishers for the Lady Gators included senior Amanda Dick (Clearwater, Fla.) who finished tied for 59th with a 244 (81-81-82) and sophomore Tarah McNaughton (Bradenton, Fla.) who tied for 63rd place with a 246 (79-84-83).
Florida will travel to Puerto Rico for the Lady Puerto Rico Classic hosted by Purdue. The tournament is set for Feb. 22-24, 2004.
