No. 18 Gators Men's Golf Struggles with Conditions in Round One at Olympia Fields

In a windy day at the eighth annual Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational, the No. 18 Gator men's golf team fell victim to the conditions and ended first round play in15th place, shooting 28-over as a team.
Junior J.D. Tomlinson finished five-over (75), eight strokes off the day's leader while junior Eric Banks finished one stroke behind Tomlinson shooting a 76 (+6).
Buddy's Bite: “Obviously it was a tough day, it was very windy. The course was difficult and our nerves showed up on the scoreboard. It will get better, it's a long season. Young teams always get better.”
