Three Gators Card a 74 in Day One at Chris Schenkel Invitational

Florida started this morning on high note, but couldn't close out the afternoon as they shot nine-over (297) as a team today to share a spot for 11th after round one at the 35th Annual Chris Schenkel Invitational.
Freshman Ryan Orr, sophomore Richard Donegan and junior J.D. Tomlinson all carded a 74 (+2) to end the day in a tie for 29th place. Tomlinson penciled in a team-leading four birdies while Orr made three.
Rounding out the Gator lineup were junior Eric Banks who shot a 75 and freshman Victor Tarnstrom who checked in with a 76.
The Gators will look to bounce back in round two tomorrow, as the field tees off at 9 a.m.
Buddy's Bite: “The good news is we are not out of the golf tournament. The course hasn't really separated the field like it does in most cases. So, we are still in good position to get back. Probably the bad thing with that that is no one was awful in the top-five. Nobody was terrible but we're not too far out of it and with a good day tomorrow we'll be back.”
