Gators Turn Focus to Round Two of League Championship

In what proved to be a tough day on the course, the Florida men's golf team shot 292 in round one of the SEC Championship at Seaside Course to land in a shared spot for 13th with western division rival Ole Miss.
The Gators began play on the back nine today, as freshman Ryan Orr eagled on 18 and then went on to make two birdies on the front nine. Orr finished the day at even-par, T16.
Juniors Eric Banks and J.D. Tomlinson both shot 73 this afternoon with Banks matching a team-high three birdies and Tomlinson making just one. Also sinking three birdies was sophomore Richard Donegan, who concluded play with a 76.
Buddy's Bite: “I really thought we would have played better than we did today. A couple of guys got off to a slow start but hung in there pretty well. Banks made triple bogey on the fourth hole and Richard (Donegan) got off to a poor start, but Ryan (Orr) played solid and it's nice to see a freshman not afraid of the moment because obviously postseason is bigger deal. I'm still hopeful that we'll play a little better the last few days based on the last couple of months. But, we have to get it done on the golf course.”
