ATHENS, Ga. – After 18 holes of stroke play in the first round of the Liz Murphy Collegiate Classic, the Florida Gators women's golf team sits in the eighth spot on the leaderboard.

The Gators are led by freshman Clara Manzalini, who birdied her last two holes to finish the round at one-over and sit in a tie for seventh place. Sophomore Addie Baggarly is not far behind, finishing her round one stroke behind Manzalini and in a tie for 15th. Freshman Jenny Kim birdied two of her last four holes to stay in contention as well, finishing just two strokes behind Baggarly in a tie for 33rd.

There will be two rounds of match play Friday before a final round of match play on Saturday.
