
Late Push Puts Gators Back on Winning Side of Match Play at Liz Murphy Collegiate

ATHENS, Ga. – After the first two rounds of match play at the Liz Murphy Collegiate Classic, the Gators will compete for fifth place after winning their second round.
Florida dropped the morning match to Augusta, 4-1, and defeated Louisville on a tie break in the afternoon after finishing 2.5-2.5. Freshman Clara Manzalini was the lone winner in the morning, defeating her Augusta opponent by two holes. She and Baggarly both won their afternoon matches and freshman Jenny Kim finished all square with her Louisville opponent in the second round. The tie break was determined by which team won the most holes overall in the round, so the Gators took the win.
The final round of match play will begin tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. with Augusta and South Carolina matching up for the championship round. Arkansas and Georgia will compete for third and fourth place while the Gators will face Ole Miss for fifth and sixth place. Louisville and Kennesaw State will compete for seventh and eighth.
