Gators Wrap Up First Day in Columbia

The Florida women’s golf team is in 16th place at the conclusion of the first round.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Florida women's golf team concluded the first round of play against an elite field, finishing the day 14-over par and in 16th on the leaderboard.

Maisie Filler and Jenny Kim sit atop the leaderboard for the Gators after each turning in a 3-over par 75 on the day. Filler joined Kim in the standings after two late birdies on the back nine. The due sits in a tie for 47th place heading into the second round.

Marina Escobar and Clara Manzalini each sit one-stroke behind their Florida teammates, posting a 4-over par 76 through the first eighteen holes.

Elin Esborn rounded out the Gators lineup.

Florida will hit the course tomorrow at 9 a.m. ET in the hunt to move up in the standings.
