Softball To Kick Off Fall Exhibition Slate Sunday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida softball team kicks off the first of its eight fall exhibition games on Sunday afternoon, hosting the Florida VIBE, a professional softball team from the Fastpitch United Pro Series league, at 1 p.m.
All of the Gators' exhibitions will be played at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium and admission to each is free and open to the public, with gates opening an hour and a half before first pitch.
Florida is hosting a canned food drive during the fall season and encourages fans to bring canned goods for their admission to all games.
The VIBE's Gainesville travel roster includes 12 players, including former Gators Katie Kistler and Hannah Adams, as well as two-time Olympic gold medalist and current ESPN analyst Michele Smith, who will pitch to the first batter of the game.
Chloe Evans, Florida's manager of player development and data analytics and UCF softball alumnus, will also be a guest player for the Vibe.
The VIBE, which is coached by Shelly Riker, also features AJ Andrews (LSU), Ashley Prange (Alabama), Valerie Cagle (Clemson), Kami Kortokrax (Ohio State), Taylor Minnick (Indiana), Sophia Nugent (Tennessee), Payton Dixon (USF) and Reese Basinger (Clemson) on its roster.
2026 Florida Softball Fall Schedule
The 2026 Florida softball 17-player roster includes 10 returners from the 2025 World Series team, including the 2025 NFCA Freshman of the Year Taylor Shumaker, along with seven newcomers.
