
Perfect Game Honors Florida Trio as Top-150 Prospects

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Perfect Game recently unveiled its updated 2026 MLB Draft Board, featuring three Gators ranked inside the top-150 eligible prospects.
Already ranked by Baseball America as the top pitcher in the 2026 draft class, right-hander Liam Peterson led the way at No. 8 overall on Perfect Game's list. The junior from Palm Harbor, Fla. is the top-ranked college arm and right-handed pitcher in PG's rankings, holding status as the No. 2 pitcher and No. 5 college player in the class overall.
Junior outfielder Kyle Jones followed at No. 82 in PG's top-150 prospects, ranking as the No. 13 college outfielder, No. 24 outfielder and No. 44 college player. Meanwhile, junior righty Luke McNeillie capped off the list at No. 130 overall on top of being the No. 17 college right-hander, No. 24 college pitcher and No. 69 college player.

Similar to Peterson, Jones' name was found in Baseball America's top-100 rankings back in August, coming in at No. 43 overall. Although McNeillie did not earn mention from BA, all three players honored by Perfect Game were also tabbed top-100 college prospects by D1Baseball in October: Peterson (No. 13), McNeillie (No. 31) and Jones (No. 57)
Florida's fall baseball season officially wrapped up with the final game of the Orange & Blue Series on Saturday, Nov. 15. The Gators open the 2026 season at home on Friday, Feb. 13 with the first contest of a three-game series against UAB.
