KEY RUNS
1st Quarter (Yellow Jackets 16, Gators 14)
- Georgia Tech led by as many as five on two occasions in the first, but an old-fashioned three-point play by Laila Reynolds cut the Yellow Jacket's advantage to two at the end of the period. Georgia Tech benefited from nine offensive rebounds in the stanza, which gave them seven more field goal attempts than Florida in the quarter (7 for 22, compared to six for 15). Five different players scored for the Yellow Jackets over the first 10 minutes of action led by Brianna Turnage's and Savannah Samuel's five points apiece.
- A Laila Reynolds step-back with 8:28 to go in the half knotted the score at 18, but neither team was able to find the bottom of the net for the next three-plus minutes. Reynolds ended the drought on a jumper with 5:05 to go before intermission, and the Gators eventually built a six-point lead, 28-22, before heading into the locker room up four.
