GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida opens the 2026 season ranked No. 3 in the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) preseason poll.
Defending NCAA champion Oklahoma tops the preseason poll, followed by 2025 Southeastern Conference championship meet winner LSU. UCLA checks in at No. 4, with Utah rounding out the top five at No. 5.
The nation's preseason top five has included the Gators every season since 2007 (2007: 3rd; 2008: 2nd; 2009: 3rd; 2010: 4th; 2011: 3rd; 2012: 3rd, 2013: 3rd; 2014: 1st, 2015: 1st, 2016: 2nd, 2017: 5th; 2018: 2nd; 2019: 3rd, 2020: 3rd; 2021: 1st; 2022: 2nd; 2023: 2nd; 2024: 2nd; 2025: 3rd; 2026: 3rd).
"This team is excited to get the 2026 season started. Every team is unique, but the promise this group has made to each other—and to Gator Nation—truly stands out. They are intentional, purposeful, and hungry, and that's something I absolutely love," Florida Head Gymnastics Coach Jenny Rowland said. "The energy from our fans in the crowd will only add fuel to this team and push them even further."
Each of Florida's five home meets include at least one preseason top-25 opponents. The 2026 season starts Jan. 9 with a quad meet that includes No. 24 North Carolina, West Virginia and Temple. The Exactech Arena is the site for four top-10 duals.
