Trio of Gators Slated to Play in East-West Shrine Bowl

The three Gator participants will mark the 48th-50th Gators to play in the All-Star game
Frisco, Texas – Five Florida football starters from the 2025 season are set to compete in the 101st East-West Shrine Bowl Tuesday. Tommy Doman, Trey Smack and J. Michael Sturdivant will become the 48th-50th Gators to play in the prestigious All-Star Bowl.
Tommy Doman – Punter
A spring 2025 transfer, Doman joined the Gators, looking to fill the void left by four-year starter Jeremy Crawshaw. Doman quickly assumed primary punting duties for the Gators, finishing the season with 50 punts for 2,202 yards, placing 19 inside the 20-yard line.
Doman's 92.2 punt grade per Pro Football Focus ranked second in the country and earned him a spot on PFF's 2025 All-SEC Team.
Trey Smack – Kicker
Smack took over primary kicking responsibilities ahead of Week 4 of the 2023 season, becoming one of the best kickers in program history. Smack set the record for the most 50-plus yard field goals by a Gator with 10. The senior also holds status in the Florida record book with the third-most field goals made (53), the second longest field goal made (56 yards) and is the third most accurate extra point kicker in program history, making all but one of his 101 attempts.
J. Michael Sturdivant – Wide Receiver
Sturdivant joined Doman as one of five transfers to join the Gators ahead of the 2025 spring semester, quickly establishing a starting role with the Gators. Sturdivant started every game for Florida, finishing as the team's second-leading receiver with 27 catches for 406 yards and three touchdowns. Prior to Florida, the Overland Park native had stints at UCLA (2023-24) and Cal (2021-22), where he earned multiple first-team freshman all-American nods (FWAA and CFN).
East-West Shrine Bowl Information
The East-West Shrine Bowl is the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation. An important part of America's football tradition, the event gives top college players a chance to showcase their talents to NFL scouts and a national television audience. Since 1925, the East-West Shrine Bowl has benefited Shriners Children's and its mission to provide excellent specialty care for children.
Players like Tom Brady, Walter Payton, Lawrence Taylor, John Elway, Gale Sayers and Jimmy Garoppolo, along with coaches Don Shula, Dick Vermeil, Paul "Bear" Bryant and Jerry Glanville, to name a few, have supported the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Fans can watch live on NFL Network or experience the action in person on game day.
More than 100 players from last year's game signed with professional teams this spring, and more than 70 made final NFL rosters last season. On average, more than 300 East-West Shrine Bowl alumni are on NFL rosters each year.
Since the game's inception, 78 former players have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. More than 200 former players have been named to the College Football Hall of Fame.
2026 Football Season Ticket Deposits
Following 18-straight, sold-out games at The Swamp, fans can now place a deposit for 2026 season tickets and be part of the start of the Coach Sumrall era. The 2026 home schedule features six games against FAU (Sept. 5), Campbell (Sept. 12), Ole Miss (Sept. 26), South Carolina (Oct. 10), Oklahoma (Nov. 7), and Vanderbilt (Nov. 21).
