Gators Land at No. 5 on D1Baseball’s Top-100 Programs
Wednesday, October 14, 2026 | Baseball
Florida has been ranked as a top-five program in all six editions of D1Baseball’s collegiate rankings.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – D1Baseball unveiled the final installment of its rankings of the top-100 college baseball programs in the country on Wednesday, placing the Florida Gators at No. 5.
The Gators have now been ranked as a top-five program in all six editions of D1Baseball's rankings of the top-100 programs in college baseball dating back to 2015 (2026, 2024, 2022, 2019, 2017, 2015).
Entering the 2027 season, the Gators have advanced to a nation-high, 18-consecutive NCAA Tournaments dating back to Head Coach Kevin O'Sullivan's debut campaign in 2008. Florida's 18-year run is five years longer than the next-closest program, Oklahoma State (13). In fact, the Gators' current NCAA Tournament streak is twice as long as any other SEC team, with Arkansas the closest at nine years in a row dating back to 2017.
Since O'Sullivan's 2008 arrival, no college program has produced more MLB players (43), College World Series trips (nine), Super Regionals hosted (nine), top-eight national seeds (11) and NCAA Tournament bids than the Florida Gators. In that span, Florida also leads the SEC in regular-season titles (six), conference wins (323) and conference winning percentage (.599).
Here is what D1Baseball Editor in Chief Aaron Fitt had to say about Florida's placement on the list:
"The tale of the tape on O'Sullivan's Florida career remains staggering: in addition to those 18 regionals, O'Sullivan has led the Gators to Omaha nine times, with six appearances in the sport's final four, three trips to the Finals, and that 2017 championship. No program has won more SEC games (323) in O'Sullivan's tenure, and the Gators lead all of college baseball with 11 national seeds in that span, a testament to the remarkably consistent excellence of this program. And Florida remains a player-development machine, producing 43 big leaguers during the O'Sullivan era, six more than any other program… Expect the Gators to remain squarely in the hunt for championships for the foreseeable future."
