Florida finished 19-under and won by 17-shots with Jack Turner (-7) and Luke Poulter (-4) finishing in second and third place.
WILMINGTON, N.C. – The No. 10 Florida men's golf team closed the fall portion of the 2026-27 season with consecutive victories, capturing the Williams Cup title Tuesday at Eagle Point Golf Club. The Gators finished 19-under par (Williams Cup tournament record) to win by 17 strokes over runner-up and No. 2 Auburn.
Five Gators finished in the top-17 for the second straight year at the tournament, led by Jack Turner's runner-up finish, the fourth of his career. The senior closed the fall with consecutive third-and second-place finishes after opening the season with a seventh-place showing. Turner carded a 7-under 209, finishing one stroke shy of medalist honors behind Auburn's Josiah Gilbert. Both players made birdie on the 18th hole to close out the tournament.
Florida captured the Williams Cup for the second consecutive season, earning the 40th tournament victory of head coach J.C. Deacon's career. Deacon moved within two wins of Buster Bishop, who led the Gators to national championships in 1968 and 1973, Florida Athletics' first two national titles.
The victory marked Florida's ninth season with multiple tournament wins under Deacon, including each of the last seven. The Gators have now won 25 tournaments over the last five seasons: six in 2022-23, six in 2023-24, five in 2024-25, six in 2025-26 and two in 2026-27. Florida has won 25 of its 54 tournaments during that span, a winning percentage of 46.3%.
The Gators also closed the fall with back-to-back victories for the second consecutive season.
Luke Poulter continued finish better in each of Florida's first three tournaments (T25-T14-T13) before placing third at 4-under par. He carded a 2-under 70 in the final round for his second under-par round of the week. Poulter recorded a tournament-high 42 pars, along with eight birdies and four bogeys, over 54 holes.
Parker Sands posted his best round of the tournament with a 3-under 69. He made four birdies and just one bogey, which came on his 15th hole, before closing with a birdie on his final hole. Sands climbed 17 spots to finish tied for 12th, earning his third top-22 finish of the fall.
Rounding out the lineup and placing within one shot of another featured Josh Bai in T15 and Trevor Gutschewski T17. It was Bai's third and Gutschewski second top-17 finishes this fall.
Florida opens its spring schedule at the Southwestern Invitational, Jan. 25-26, 2027, at North Ranch Country Club.
