Five Gators Competing at 2026 MLB Spring Breakout

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Major League Baseball announced the official team rosters for the 2026 MLB Spring Breakout this past week, featuring five former Florida stars who are set to compete over the four-day event.
Showcasing baseball's future stars as clubs assemble their top prospects to play in exhibition games from March 19-22, the Spring Breakout is headlined by Gators Sterlin Thompson, Josh Rivera, Colby Shelton, Jake Clemente and Bobby Boser.
The event spans four days and 16 games with exciting prospects facing off in Grapefruit and Cactus League ballparks. All 16 contests will be streamed live and blackout-free on MLB's digital platforms (MLB.com, MLB.TV and MLB app) with seven games airing live on MLB Network and the other nine on tape delay.
As for the Gators, both Thompson and Rivera concluded the 2025 season at the Triple-A level while Shelton, Clemente and Boser joined the Minor League Baseball ranks during the summer. The latter three Gators all got their first taste of Single-A ball with their respective clubs following their selections in the 2025 MLB Draft.
