Baugh, Brown III and Woods Earn Nods to Preseason All-SEC Teams

Jadan Baugh, Vernell Brown III and Jayden Woods were selected by the media members in attendance for SEC Football Media Days in Tampa this week.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Three Gators have been named to four spots on the preseason All-SEC teams, based on a selection from the media members covering the SEC Football Media Days that took place this week in Tampa. Jadan Baugh was selected to the second team as a running back and third-team all-purpose as Vernell Brown III was named to the third team as a return specialist and Jayden Woods named to the third team as a defensive lineman.
Jadan Baugh | Running Back & All-Purpose | Jr. | Atlanta, Ga.
Baugh enters his junior year after an impressive sophomore campaign that saw him start all 12 games for the Gators and rush for 1,170 yards and eight touchdowns on 220 carries, all of which led the Gators. Baugh also tallied 31 receptions for 185 receiving yards and two touchdowns. In the 2025 season finale against Florida State, Baugh ran for 266 yards, the second-most in a game in program history and most against Florida State, to surpass 1,000 yards. Baugh became the 10th Gator to rush for over 1,000 yards and the third underclassman to surpass the mark, joining Emmitt Smith (Fr., 1987) and Errict Rhett (So., 1991). Baugh's 2025 season saw him earn All-SEC Second Team honors at the end of the season.

Brown enters the 2026 season after serving as the Gators' primary punt and kick returner for most of the 2025 season and earning Freshman All-SEC honors at wide receiver, all-purpose and return specialist. In 2025, Brown tallied 261 return yards across 18 kick and punt returns and was one of two freshman and 18 players in the FBS to have five punt returns of 20-plus yards. Brown also led the team with 40 receptions for 512 yards, becoming the first true freshman in program history to lead the team in catches and receiving yards.
Jayden Woods | Defensive Lineman | So. | Shawnee, Kan.
After earning Freshman All-SEC honors in 2025, Woods enters his sophomore season with the Gators in 2026. 2025 saw Woods lead the team in sacks with three and a half and was third in TFLs with five, while posting 28 total tackles, an interception, a pass breakup, two QB hurries and a fumble recovery. Woods posted a team-high PFF defense grade in multiple games last season, tallying a 75.7 defense grade against No. 7 Ole Miss and an 82.1 defense grade and 93.9 pass rush grade against No. 20 Tennessee.

Following 18-straight, sold-out games at The Swamp, Season ticket packages for the 2026 season are on sale now. The 2026 home schedule features six games against FAU (Sept. 5), Campbell (Sept. 12), Ole Miss (Sept. 26), South Carolina (Oct. 10), Oklahoma (Nov. 7), and Vanderbilt (Nov. 21).
