Baugh Named to Maxwell Award Watch List

Jadan Baugh is one of 16 SEC players named to the watch list made up of 81 players
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida running back Jadan Baugh has been named to the 2026 Maxwell Award preseason watch list, the Maxwell Football Club announced Monday.
The recognition comes following a season that saw Baugh start in all 12 games and lead the Gators with 1,170 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 220 carries. Baugh also tallied 21 receptions for 185 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
In the 2025 season finale against Florida State, Baugh ran for 266 yards, the second-most in a game in program history and most against Florida State, to surpass 1,000 yards. Baugh became the 10th Gator to rush for over 1,000 yards and the third underclassman to surpass the mark, joining Emmitt Smith (Fr., 1987) and Errict Rhett (So., 1991). Baugh's 2025 season saw him earn All-SEC Second Team honors at the end of the season.
The Maxwell Award has been presented to the College Player of the Year since 1937 and is named in honor of Robert "Tiny" Maxwell who was a former standout at Swarthmore College and a renowned sportswriter and football official.
The full watchlist consists of 81 players, with the SEC having 16 players named to the list. The list will be narrowed down to a group of semifinalists on Nov. 10, and then the three finalists will be unveiled on Nov. 24. The winner will be announced on the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 10. The Maxwell Football Club has partnered will Phil Steele Publications as a selection committee to choose the players to advance to the next round.
