Gators to tangle with West Virginia, Davidson at Battle 4 Atlantis

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — This afternoon, Battle 4 Atlantis released the schedule for its 2026 women's showcase, and the Florida Women's Basketball Team will tangle with West Virginia and Davidson during this year's Thanksgiving Week tournament.
The competition begins on Tuesday, Nov. 24 with Notre Dame squaring off against Davidson at 1 p.m. ET. The Gators and West Virginia play one another that same day beginning at 3:30 p.m. Both games are being broadcast on ESPN+.
On Thursday, Nov. 26 the Mountaineers and Fighting Irish tangle at 11:30 a.m. on ESPN2, while Florida and the Wildcats conclude the tournament with a 2 p.m. tip on ESPNU.
ABOUT FLORIDA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Florida Women's Basketball Team will have almost an entirely new look this year, as Head Coach Tammi Reiss puts her stamp on the Gators in her inaugural season in Gainesville.
The revamped roster is led by All-American transfer Kiyomi McMiller, who scored 30 or more points in six consecutive games a year ago, including a career-high 40 against Southern Cal. McMiller's Penn State teammate Moriah Murray also joins the Gators after connecting on 39.8 percent of her three-pointers a year ago, and posting back-to-back seasons of 70 or more made threes.
Vanessa Harris, who was named Atlantic 10 Sixth Woman of the Year at Rhode Island last season, made her way to the Sunshine State during the offseason, as did junior college transfer Ja'Niya Broome, who led the NSJCAA with 94 made threes, and finished second in the nation with a scoring average of 22.6 points.
FLORIDA vs. WEST VIRGINIA
The Gators are 4-1 all-time against West Virginia, with all five meetings coming between 1991-2000. The Mountaineers have made the NCAA Tournament each of the last four seasons, advancing to the second round the last three years. West Virginia has just two players returning from last year's squad. Included in that duo is the team's leading scorer from 2025-26, redshirt senior guard Gia Cooke, who tossed in 15.5 points per game a year ago.
FLORIDA vs. DAVIDSON
Florida and Davidson have met on just one prior occasion — a 55-50 Gators' victory on Dec. 29, 2019. The Wildcats are coming off a 21-12 campaign which marked the program's first 20-win season since 2012-13. Davidson returns two of its top three scorers in guards Katie Donovan (12.1 ppg, .458 3G%) and Kyra Bruyndoncx (9.3 ppg).

The Fighting Irish finished the 2025-26 season with a 25-11 record, advancing to the NCAA Tournament Regional Final, and ranking ninth in the nation at season's end. They are led by the reigning National Defensive Player of the Year, Hannah Hidalgo. The wwo-time ACC Player of the Year also finished third in the nation in scoring a year ago, averaging 25.3 points per game.
