Five Gators at Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics This Weekend

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Five with Gator ties – Skye Blakely, Dulcy Caylor, Jayla Hang, Simone Rose and Leanne Wong – are in the Valley of the Sun this weekend for the Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships. Women's senior competition begins Friday evening at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Ariz.

Twenty-one gymnasts compete for national titles and spots on the U.S. Senior National Team in this weekend's competition. National team berths give the gymnasts a chance to claim a 2026 World Championships roster spot, which is set for Oct. 17-25 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
All Gators are current members of the U.S. Senior National team. Blakely and Wong and won team gold at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships.
Blakely is the only gymnast at 2026 U.S. Championships who also competed in the 2026 NCAA season. Blakely earned four All-America honors in 2026 and posted a 10.0 on uneven bars and balance beam.
About the Gators:
Three of the Gators – Blakely, Caylor and Wong – made up three-fourths of the U.S.'s team at the 2025 World Championships. Both Wong and Caylor advanced to the World all-around final, with Wong winning her second World Championships all-around silver medal. Blakely was fourth in the 2025 Worlds uneven bars final.
This weekend's action marks Blakely's return to elite all-around competition since she suffered a right Achilles tendon injury on the final day of podium training at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials. She did compete all-around four times during the 2026 collegiate season.
In June, Rose helped the U.S. win the 2026 Pan American Championships team gold. She also claimed silver for uneven bars and balance beam at the event.
Hang medaled in every event at the 2025 Senior Pan American Championships, winning all-around gold, taking silver for bars, beam and floor plus took vault bronze.
Caylor, Hang and Rose signed with Florida in November in 2025. Caylor and Hang both announced they will defer enrollment at UF to train for the 2028 U.S. Olympic Trials.
Wong graduated magna cum laude in May 2025 and is one of just a handful ever to compete at U.S. Championships with a degree. Those few would include Gator Trinity Thomas, who competed at the 2024 U.S. Championships and spring 2026 Oregon State graduate Jade Carey.
