Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Earn Spots on USTFCCCA Preseason Coaches' Polls

The Gator Women are ranked 14th and the Gator Men are at 21st in the first poll of the year
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The USTFCCCA announced their cross country preseason polls on Tuesday afternoon, with both the Gators' Men and Women finding themselves in the polls.
The Florida Women's Cross Country team find themselves ranked at 14th in the first poll of the year. The 2025 season saw the women win both the SEC Championship and the NCAA South Regional meet, earning a spot in the NCAA Championships, where they finished 5th, matching the programs best finish at the NCAA Championship meet. Earlier this month the Florida women were picked to finish second in the SEC preseason poll.
The Florida Men's Cross Country team are ranked 21st in the poll, being one of sixth teams to be ranked after finishing 2025 unranked. The men look to build of their 2025 season where Kelvin Cheruiyot won the individual men's SEC Championship and they finished 7th in the NCAA South Regional meet. Earlier this month, the Florida men were picked to finish third in the SEC preseason poll.
The Gators kick of their season this Friday, Sept. 4, when they head to Kennesaw, Ga. for the Stan Sims XC Opener hosted by Kennesaw State. The 2026 Cross Country NCAA Championships take place in Terre Haute, Ind. on November 21.
