- Made eight relief appearances for the Gators as a true freshman
- Pitched to a 7.27 ERA and .306 batting average against
- Struck out six batters against just one walk in 8 2/3 innings
- Did not issue a free pass in seven-straight outings to finish the season
- Provided three scoreless relief appearances
- Threw 1 1/3 innings of two-run relief on two hits and one walk in his career debut against Georgia on March 22
- Chucked a scoreless inning with his first-two career strikeouts at Ole Miss on March 27
- Fired a zero with one hit allowed in the victory at South Carolina on May 3
- Retired all eight batters he faced for a career-high 2 2/3 shutout innings on top of two strikeouts against East Carolina at the NCAA Conway Regional on May 30
FORT MEADE HS:
- Starred as a two-sport athlete on the diamond and gridiron
- The Ledger’s 2023 Small School Offensive Player of the Year as Fort Meade’s starting quarterback as a junior and senior, going 9-1 record with 21 touchdowns and 1,503 yards
- Lettered under Head Coach Jonathan Spradlin in baseball
- 2023 & 2024 Polk County 3A Player of the Year
- Totaled 127 innings of 1.38 ERA ball across 24 career appearances, 17 of which were starts
- Posted a 13-4 record with a .175 batting average against
- Finished with dazzling marks across the board: 14.4 K/9, 1.6 BB/9 and 5.9 H/9
- Struck out 115 batters over 64 1/3 frames his senior season, which ranked eighth in the state
- Eclipsed 300 career strikeouts as a senior
- Twirled three complete games during his two varsity seasons at Fort Meade
- Pitched to a career-low 0.89 ERA as a junior, finishing with a 7-0 record and one save
- Appeared in 54 games as a position player, slashing .362/.438/.610 with seven homers, three triples, 17 doubles, 38 RBI, 58 runs and 11 stolen bases in 177 at bats
- Ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 129 player and No. 41 right-handed pitcher Florida while being ranked as the No. 358 right-hander nationally
PERSONAL:
- Son of Adam Montsdeoca and Amy Cherry
- Has one brother, Ty, who is a two-sport athlete in football and baseball at Fort Meade HS
- Enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time
- Holds status as a legacy Gator, holding relation to former UF punter Fred Montsdeoca, who lettered for the Gators from 1948-50 and ranks ninth all-time with 154 punts in Orange & Blue
