HIGH SCHOOL: A 2005 graduate of Hillsborough High School, where he played for head coach Pat Russo…Selected in the 36th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Boston Red Sox…Finished 10-2 with a 0.98 earned run average, 101 strikeouts and one no-hitter as a senior…His team captured the district championship for the first time in over a decade and advanced to the second round of regionals…Earned third-team all-state recognition in Class 5A…First-team all-county selection by the Tampa Tribune and the St. Petersburg Times…First-team All-Western Conference recipient…Struck out 13 batters during a no-hit effort versus East Bay High School…In the fall of 2004, McClure notched 20 K in an eight-inning no-hitter against Newsome High School….Member of HHS' National Honor Society.
